Cherokee /// Teenage Fantasy

The French House scene was at somewhat of a downfall, however thanks to artists like Zimmer and French Kiwi Juice it’s seeing a resurgence.

To further confirm this is Roche Musique artist Cherokee. His new single ‘Teenage Fantasy’ oozes those funky Daft Punk vibes of old and certainly breaths fresh life into the French scene with its vibrant synths and smooth, soulful vocals from Gibbz.

Ghostly /// Ghostly Swim 2

The  New Year’s just kicked in and there’s new beats a plenty!

I’m really liking this new Ghostly X Adult Swim collab that’s going round at the moment. 12 beautifully chilled, ambient beats from the usual suspects, like Shigeto, CFCF, Duawd (need I go on?). Check out this track from Patricia and see if it floats your boat:

Thriftworks /// Fade

I spent yesterday morning nursing post halloween hangovers and mellowing out with this new treat from Thriftworks (which conveniently came out yesterday!)

‘Fade’ is the latest release from the Californian producer and boasts 14 tracks inspired by a range of genres, from Hip Hop to Dubstep to Psychedelia and more!

‘Rumour Has It’ is a sublime track that showcases Thriftworks’ skill at creating beautiful soundscapes.  The track mellows the listener with its tricking sound and gentle, fluttering guitar samples. Trust me, after the weekend I had this track was warmly welcomed and put me right at ease!

Nuage /// Prints Of You

St. Petersburg… home to forward thinking D&B producers like Enei and light, mellow producers like Monokle. In between these two sits Nuage, an artist who has managed to merge these two influences and created something beautifully unique… the “Prints Of You LP.”

The album boasts 15 tracks of smooth, polished production rich in emotion and elegance. There’s hints of Synkro, Bonobo and some great features from Gerwin, iTAL tEK and Silent Dust. “Prints Of You” offers so much in terms of genre, an album to please many ears.

Oceaán /// Grip

0

Earlier this year, Manchester based Oceaán released self-titled EP. Featuring heavy synths and combining electronic sounds with soul, the EP sparked comparisons to Ben Khan and Jai Paul.

Oceaán has recently shared a new track, Grip. The track shows the range of skills he has as a producer, slowly building the track with samples and glass-like percussion. It seems as though Oceaán has found his sound, and we’re pretty excited about the future.

Mansionair /// Hold Me Down (Maths Time Joy Remix)

0

Despite having only ever shared one track, Mansionair have had over a million plays on SoundCloud for Hold Me Down. This has subsequently led to them being signed to Goodbye Records (CHVRCHES label). The track has very recently been remixed by Maths Time Joy who has added a heavy low-end to the track and polyrhythmic beats. The result is super chilled, and pretty damn tasty.
