French electronic act Thaylo just launched his Drown In Your Eyes EP on September 4th through PLAYY. Records, and a few days in, it’s already picking up steam in the melodic house space. From Grenoble, he’s clocked over 5.8 million Spotify plays and built creds with drops on Purified, Colorize, and Kontor. His style leans on piano foundations with solid rhythms and melody hooks that have pulled in backing from big names like Martin Garrix, Nora En Pure, and Solomun. Tracks such as ‘Let Me Be’ and ‘Save Your Tears’ scored features from When We Dip and House Music With Love, hitting Beatport’s Top 100 Progressive House and Deezer’s Top 100 in Indonesia. He’s also graced Spotify lists including Chill Tracks, Melancholia, Afterhours, Open Air, Electronic Rising, and Summer House 2025. Drawn in by Tomorrowland videos, Thaylo handles his own production, mixing, and mastering, blending influences from M83, Ludovico Einaudi, and Solomun into a progressive house mix that echoes Ben Böhmer, Monolink, or RÜFÜS DU SOL. With this release gaining traction, he’s poised for bigger festival slots and wider playlist reach, potentially cracking more international charts soon.
The EP’s five cuts navigate emotional depths starting with the opener, layering piano elements and vocal lifts for an immersive entry. ‘Let Me Be’ sets a contemplative pace with its understated bass and sticking vocal motif, followed by ‘Save Your Tears’ merging melodic house drives with rhythmic pulls and expansive vibes. ‘One Life’ shifts from vocal haze and textural builds to a groove that screams mainstage potential. The focus ‘Last Forever’ rounds it out with a forward-pushing beat that’s entrancing yet forward-looking, capping the set with real staying power.
Thaylo had this to say: “For a while now, I’ve been exploring the use of my voice in my tracks. This EP marks the first time I’ll release a complete project featuring my own vocals. I discovered that when I sing on my own music, something special happens—a unique and more authentic mood emerges. This was the starting point for the creation of my EP: combining this newfound vibe with my signature universe, which blends melodic tones and electronic synths. To me, this EP embodies the perfect balance between sadness and hope. I’ve always believed that, as humans, we constantly navigate these two emotions. Capturing this interplay and expressing it through my music felt deeply important to share.“
