One of the most decorated artists over the last decade, Example bridges the gap between drum and bass and the ultimate festival anthem with his latest single ‘Never Let You Down’ out now. Exploring drum and bass sonics for the first time, Example teams up with prominent UK producer Kanine & Australian singer/songwriter Penny Ivy. The single immediately reflects the energetic nature that has been a staple throughout Example’s prominent career.
After his breakout year in 2016, Kanine has been a staple in the UK’s drum and bass scene having amassed over 100 million streams on Spotify alone. Among his many achievements, his single ‘Point Em Up’ was featured in the famed video game FIFA in 2021 as well as a sold out tour of Australia and New Zealand despite global travel restrictions.
Having previously worked with Example remixing his Darkzy collaboration ‘Drops’, the two teaming up was an inevitability. While performing at his sold out show in Brisbane, Australia the pair wasted no time and took to the studio the very next day and created the foundation of what was to become “Never Let You Down”...the end result, an infectious drum and bass anthem. Speaking on the new single Example say’s:
“Kanine and I have been talking about collaborating for some time, so we got together and made ‘Never Let You Down’ with my good friend and co-writer Penny Ivy. My wife Erin actually overheard the music and started humming a melody. Within a few minutes she’d written the chorus so it’s not only my first official DnB track but also my first songwriting collaboration involving my wife”
