A hip-hop gem that liberates and empowers, Wax Tailor’s original track ‘Keep It Movin ft. D Smoke’ has been revised into an electronic piece from none other than the legend himself – Wax Tailor. The globally renowned producer & DJ raised a few eyebrows last month with the release of his ‘Everybody Remixes’ that showcased emerging talents like Kanif The Jhatmaster. Wax Tailor also had a go at remixing this track, which he nailed of course.
Known as the tastemaker of electro hip-hop, we can see why he has received this recognition, working with some of the biggest hip-hop talents in the game like Del the Funky Homosapien and noteworthy talent Yungen Blakrok on his Shadow Of Their Suns album via Lab’oratoire. The album is a merge between trip-hop, hip-hop and other electronic sub-genres.
The original ‘Keep It Movin’ track features the rap stylings of D Smoke, who is also the winner of noteworthy Netflix’s series Rhythm + Flow. This track was born out of the lockdown period amidst the outcry of Black Lives Matter, and is seen as a track of protest against the men with badges and guns that abuse their power. The reworked version of this track remains the same in terms of its message, but Wax Tailor puts a slick spark on this re-imagining.
