The new release by Parra For Cuva, Mood in C is out now via Project Mooncircle. German-born Nicolas Demuth aka Parra For Cuva has already racked up over 35 million plays on YouTube and 20 million plays on Soundcloud with a string of albums, EPs, singles and remixes. Nicholas’s early influences were those of piano and jazz. He studied Audio Design in Berlin and released his debut EP Fading Nights in 2013, followed by 2014’s Majouré and 2016’s Darwîs. Childhood friend Anna Naklab features as guest singer on many of his tracks, including the wildly successful cover of Chris Isaak’s ‘Wicked Games (feat singer Anna Naklab)’ which reached #1 in the UK Dance and #6 in the UK Singles charts. Mood in C is a collection of songs created in the last year. All percussion was either recorded on journeys and travels or at home with everyday objects to give the EP a unique sound. The title song “Mood in C” was composed after the Ethiopian pentatonic scale that is deeply intertwined with both the spirituality of the people but also the war-torn and deeply trenched history of the country. Furthermore it combines guitar effects with synths and all sounds were recorded analog with the help of effects units. Influenced by electronic acts such as Bonobo, Tycho and Four Tet, Parra For Cuva’s approach towards composition draws heavily on the use of live (often exotic) instrumentation, as illustrated by his experimental use of percussion on Mood in C. Thick layering of effects and a broad range of production influences is apparent, seemingly all encapsulated in a mellow, percussively textured wash, at once unobtrusive and cultured. ‘Mood in C’ Tracklisting:01 Mood in A 02 Mood in C 03 Unfinished Colours Feat Others 04 We Do 05 Tell Me 06 Unfinished Colours (Instrumental) Listen to Parra For Cuva’s “Mood in C” out now via Project Mooncircle:
